On Sunday September 27, 2020 popular Minecraft content creator Repeeks got a troubling automated email from twitch support stating that she was being indefinitely suspended for “fraudulent activity” on her Twitch account. The email below was shared on the creator’s twitter account.

Twitch Initial Suspension Message

Twitch has a rather unusual policy of not allowing appeals for indefinite suspensions as detailed in their terms of service page at the time of writing. This policy made it rather difficult for Repeeks to appeal the issue as they did not provide any details to show proof of the fraud accusations being made and as seen in the previous image, the message was rather insincere, impersonal and likely automated.

Repeeks made several attempts to appeal the inaccurate fraudulent activity claims that got her indefinitely suspended, but to no avail. All she received was a generic response from twitch after her first attempt at an appeal stating that she would not be allowed to make an appeal due to the terms of service not allowing appeals for indefinite suspensions. After the first attempt at contacting Twitch about the unfair suspension, Repeeks received the following correspondence as the final response from the streaming service.

Repeeks eventually decided to get a lawyer to contact twitch on her behalf as a last resort after they ignored her several appeals to the unfair suspension. Fortunately this worked and Twitch eventually responded to the lawyer, after about 4 weeks after looking into the matter and decided reverse the suspension. Although the suspension was reversed and she was allowed to return to twitch, Repeeks never got any answers as to the nature of the indefinite suspension or the accusations of fraudulent activity claims, but it was a win nonetheless. The response forwarded to Repeeks from her lawyer can be found below, sourced from her tweet.

If anyone has a similar issue and needs a lawyer to handle the interaction with twitch here is the contact information for the lawyer Repeeks used:
